Over the course of February, crews completed assembly of the structural and exterior components of the filter building. With the building structure now in place, work has begun on interior elements, including walls, doors, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and plumbing. In addition to progress on the filter building, crews installed piping, valves, and replaced the booster pump for the high service pump station room improvements. These modifications will support increased plant capacity. Crews also continued installation of chemical injection vaults and associated filtrate piping from the filter building to the ground storage tanks.
As February transitions into March, the Contractor plans to install the third and final chemical injection vault, finish work on all above ground and underground filtrate piping and continue work on the internal items of the filtrate building. Additionally, the first Purifics equipment delivery is expected now that the filtrate building’s external components are installed.
