May Update
In April, when it wasn’t raining, the contractor formed and poured the second and final section of the pump station structure. After the concrete cured, the contractor continued sinking the structure to its planned depth. The second section sunk much faster than the first due to the saturated soils from all the rain. Upon reaching the specified depth, the base slab or “floor” of the structure was formed and poured. At the same time, work continued installing the filter building foundation and pipe trenches. The first trench has been poured and cured, and excavation for the second trench is underway.
In May, the contractor plans to continue work on the top slab of the pump station and start electrical work for the pump station. Additionally, the contractor will continue work on the filter building’s trenches and foundation.
