Due to the extreme flooding caused by Tropical Storm Imelda, Newport MUD will be closing the trails effective immediately. Following the Districtā€™s safety concerns, Professional Utility Services (the District Operator) and LAN-Inc (The District Engineer) are currently assessing the trails and have found several large areas of erosion caused by the Gully. The trails will reopen as soon as we complete the assessment and they are deemed safe for residents.
We appreciate your patience while we complete the assessment, and notification will be posted to the District website when the trails reopen. As always, the safety of Newport residents is our top priority.
